Date Template #11

.  It is a .psd file in grey scale.
  1. Select a background color and remember you can change the layer setting to achieve a different effect.  Of course you can use a paper that compliments your layout if you would like to.
  2. Pick a month in the layers palette, March is selected when you open the file.
  3. IT IS IMPORTANT that you select the correct number of days for the month in which you are making the date label, it is set at 31 for March when you open it.  There are four options 28,29,30 and 31, click the one you need and click off all others not in use.
  4. If you would like to change the color of the dates or months, add a new layer, Layer>group with previous (ctrl +g) and add the preferred color.
  5. When you are finished click Layers>merge visible.  And drag the label into your layout.
  6. It also includes 5 markers, this time in a chromed metal.  You can add color to these elements as well in the same manner.
You can locate the password in the Terms of Use on the right and have fun.

Connie-yes use them just as a template the instruction were included in the post for the download.  It is an important thing to learn how to use templates.  Generally the shapes would be the easiest for you to learn how to use.  This template is a bit more complicated than the borders posted yesterday, yet you will find that is easy to use.

Library Card Journaling

Library Card Journaling.  Thanks so much for the nice comments. You are welcome Kim, I add farm elements from time to time.  The links that were reported seem to work for the last few days.  I'm glad you like the new background.  Since I see it everyday, a fresh look now and then is nice for me too.  Leanne, I tried to find your layouts, without success.   If you leave (or email) a direct link, I'll pop over and see them.  Does this paper look different to you?  It's out of the Old School kit.  The grunge paper was layered with the paisley (set at overlay)...just prodding you to play a bit.

  1. Now there are 4 files included, 2 different library cards and the pocket and the front piece.
  2. Drag the full size pocket into your layout.  Now drag the front piece and align it over the full size piece.  IF YOU WOULD like you can duplicate the layer of the pocket, click on the bottom layer and erase the tab portion of the pocket.  I did this for some of our friends that are newer.  It is how you learn.
  3. Drag a library card into the layout.  If you would like to add text, do it now and lock the card and text layers, merge linked.
  4. Now you can arrange and rotate the card inside the pocket.  If it is set deep into the pocket, erase any part that shows beyond the pocket sides and bottom.
  5. Click Layer>Merge Visible.

Date Template #10

I would be happy to fix any broken links, but please use the post in the top of the side bar to report it. Changing the comments to be moderated lets me read them before posting, to prevent spam comments. It's doesn't let me know which item each comment is for. Thanks so much. Date Template #10. Reloaded into Mediafire 4/21. It's only a template, open the template and click on the date shape...
  1. Add a paper or new layer and fill with color.
  2. Included are 2 cross bars in white or black. Put the color you would like on the layer above the other.
  3. Pick a color and type the date, each part in a new layer so that they may moved to a position pleasing to your eye.
  4. If you would like to change the color in month, date and year fields. Click on the type tool, highlight the text, click on the foreground color and it's changed. Do this for all three date layers.
  5. If you'd like to use a different font...highlight the text in each layer, pick a font you like and it will automatically change the font. Fonts are never the same size however, so resize the first one. Remember this size or write it down and resize all the other text layers to the changed size. Have fun.

Date Label #9

Date Label #9. All the files are black, add color or paper. They don't include any year information, and the Febuary with 29 days is included. We are still operating on the idea of not limiting these to one year only. Rosanna from Brazil sent a link for a layout she did with the Paint Kit. It turned out great, if you need idea's check it out. I added some instructions to the preview for anyone who is new to Photoshop. Hello to Norway! Have fun.

Circle my World

Circle my world. So we have discussed how to recolor elements. These are easy, new layer, crtl+g, add color or?, and merge layers. Add some sparkle for the Holidays or any color to compliment your layout. The files are 4 inch squares. Try cropping your photo into a circle and laying this around the outside edge. Can't remember when a photo is taken? Right click on the photograph in IT'S FOLDER, not in Photoshop. Select properties and then summary. Here you should find the date taken. Have Fun.

Clear Date Labels

Clear Date Labels. On the top label, I just made a new layer under the label, and used a brush to "stamp" , highlighting the date. All the markers are in red, however we had a lesson in changing colors. Drag it into your layout, click Enhance>Adjust Color>Adjust Hue/Saturation and move the slider to achieve the color you would like. Have fun.

Date Label #5

Date Label #5.
There are 3 pieces, one background, if you wish. Create a new layer above it, click layer> group with previous, and fill with paper or color. And then the date in white and black, but if you want another color than repeat the instructions for the background layer. Or use the date without the background. I used the Ariel font, you add the year. For a different look, pick an eraser with soft edges, set it to 25 percent and erase here and there for that grunge or old time look. Have fun.
